[QUOTE=tiptoe;1826257]My son with Blue the husky at Sam's Point Preserve, NY. Taken about 6 years ago. At 12+, Blue is now an old guy, but he acts like a pup and is still eager for day hikes. If I put on my hiking boots, he runs right to the door

Tiptoe, that is a beautiful picture. I hope you have it framed and hanging conspicuously in your home.

LadyTrekker, she's too cute! My hiking partner is a lab/shep, his younger/not so coordinated brother is a shepherd.. but I recently adopted a 5.8lb Chi! I looked all over for a harness with a handle, like your girl's life vest.. Can't find any. Any pointers? I use Ruffwear packs and took him to try some xxs stuff on and it's still too big!

Thanks, SunnyWalker! I'm hoping they're as good at hiking the AT as they are at eliciting those nice compliments.

Here is Gryphon practicing for tomorrow, where he will pass out dog treats to other dogs walking the neighborhood.
