That is just fantastic. Hope it works out. But for now, enjoy your hike and will be keeping tabs on trail journal.

Dixiecritter, hang in there. Hat's off to those on the homefront which makes hikes like these happen. My hubby still bemoans me being gone last year...but he made it.

I don't know if I'll be able to do such a rigorous job after being a trail bum with a beard for 5 months. Shaving off the beard may be too traumatic.

I'm hanging in as always Blissful, don't worry. Just still working on switching gears is all.

More good news. The son-in-law is out of Iraq and back in Germany. He should be in Arizona soon visiting the daughter and grandson.

Wonderful news. Please express my gratitude to him for his service to our country. (And thank you too for all you've done these many years.)

Enjoy yourself out there on the trail.

Rock, congrats on the retirement. Now get out there and enjoy your hike! Nurse's order! Good news also on your son-in-law, glad he's home safe. BTW if you want him to be a real soldier, tell him to give my buddy Snuff a call! Oh, you Cavalry boys rock, too!

    Default 5,000,000 or 10,000,000 Steps

If it takes a normal thru-hiker 5,000,000 steps to complete, does that mean SGT Rock has to take 10,000,000 steps to thru-hike the AT?
