    Default Running with Superfeet?

I know many of you out there are road runners. I always hike in Superfeet (the green ones) and generally use them all the time (at work, around the house, etc.). I have high arches, but I'm used to using them and my knees feel weird if I don't.

I've always ran/jogged with them and they feel OK, but I'm wondering whether others run with the Green Superfeet? Can I do myself harm? Are they too overprotective and stiff for running? Should I be having a softer cushion?

    Thanks so much.

At the advice of my doctor, I started using green superfeet about 5 years ago when I run ever since I recovered from a case of plantar fasciitis. I run about 30 miles a week -- 40 when marathon training -- and I haven't had any problems since. Good luck.

My guess is that a major part of the answer has to do with how the insert fits in the specific shoes you're using... not so much a clear yes/no

no way are they too supportive. I promise that you can collapse the insert with your thumb or your hand at the least. when you put your body on top of that, it will collapse as well.

if you have high archs, if anything, you could use more support.

My daughter ran cross-country in high school. She over-pronates and has fairly low arches (flat feet). The shoesales guy at the Atlanta REI suggested the green superfeet. Her foot pain went away. The only time she's had foot pain on a hike was the one time she forgot to put her superfeet in her hiking boots.

You should be fine as long as you slowly build-up your miles to avoid bruising and make sure that the orthotics don't take up too much space in your running shoes.

At the recommendation of a sports medicine doctor, I use the green superfeet when marathon training.

Because I have high volumn feet I can't use the green ones in my running shoes. but I successfully use the blue ones!

Green ones are too thick, I use the blue ones in my "speed shoes". Medium arches and medium over-pronation.

Thinking of adding Green ones to my heavy hikers.

Wow, thanks for all the responses everyone. I've been using the green ones, but being conservative with the miles.
