    Default Dog Pee

I have seen dogs pee on tents and packs (usually NOT dogs with hikers) and once saw a dog pee on my son's sleeping bag. Granted most of the pee was from the "free range" dogs marking their territory. Now I'm wondering a few things:

    1) If gear is pee'd upon once will this increase the chances of it being pee'd upon again? I would think so given other dogs may wish to take the chance to re-mark it.

    2) Would pee'd gear be more or less inviting to bear and other creatures? I would think less; however, much more to other dogs......

    3) If pee'd upon gear is less attractable to bear, why not "treat" one's foodbag (for instance) and just keep in in the tent rather than hang it??

    4) If dog pee is undesirable to hikers, would bear pee'd gear deter dogs from marking your gear?

    5) If a bear pee'd on your tent, would that make you a bear magnet?

Ponder at will and may your gear stay pee-less

I think you should treat your food bag with dog pee. It can only be positive

I had a dog lift it's leg on my pack at the Pie Lady's place in Monson. It was the neighbor's dog. At first I was pissed! Then it was just funny.

To the best of my knowledge, this hasn't happened again.

    Default Dog Pee

the best thing to do when a dog pees on your gear is to just pee over the dog pee so it won't attrack other dogs to pee on it.

Or just pee on the dog and maybe it's owner.
One of them just might learn something.

Yeah like how to circumcise or castrate the guy peeing on them. Great way to open the dance.

i have seen dogs pee on tents and packs that WERE with hikers, especially at The Place. biggest reason dogs aren't welcome there anymore. plus the *hit in the yard and the growling and barking

Every one of the dog thread wind up being the same.Bottom line, dogs need to be banned from the trail period.Go walk em in a Wal Mart parking lot. There they could piss on tires,***** in the grass, and maybe get run over.

The trail will be a better place when hikers are banned and dogs can pee where they want!

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.
