Will be leaving on a SOBO in June 2009 but am flexible. Planning on catching a ride (mining service truck) up from Alabama on the last Sunday in May. Jump off in Pittsburgh and then Greyhound it or train it or figure out some other way to get to Maine. How early in July greenlm2? Bugs and mud will not be pleasant, but after three marriages, 28 months in a mud house in Central America and did I mention three marriages? I look forward to being "naturally uncomfortable", wet and bitten, if only for 5 blessed months or so. Good on ya friends. Fog Wilt

You should be ok. You'll still have three months of hot to warm hiking from when you start (Aug,Sep,Oct) That's one of the advantages of heading South. By November things will start to cool off a bit, days will be shorter, but you'll be walking at full speed by then. Then just be prepared to get some extra warm gear for the month of December. No biggie, lots of people do it.

Mid June-ish for me! I am really looking forward to meeting you all as you pass me. I know our SOBO ranks are small compared to the NOBOs, but I'm still hoping to make some good friends. See you on the trail.

Sobo's form smaller but tighter groups then most nobo groups.

    About anything?

Just blink once for no and twice for yes.

Are they in the room with you right now?

    Are they threatening your life?

Not all those who wander are lost... well, I mean I kinda roughly know where we are... East is definitely that way... right?
