    Default AT Hiker Food Pyramid

It would be cool if someone came up with a long-distance hiker food pyramid. I would, but I have no idea what proportions I actually need.

Just look up the Zone Diet and follow it's 4:3 ration of carbs/protein, you first need to determine your lean body mass and allow enough protein to support that (this depends on your activity level). When you are off the trail the majority of your carbs need to come from fruits/veggies, and as much as possible on the trail.

As long as you get enough of the four food groups*, you're okay.
