I participated in the AT Photo Project as well. I took pictures of the section near Salisbury, CT. I posted some of my better pictures on webshots at:

    Default photo day?

I shot slides on my section in Maine: from Grafton to East B Hill Rd over the Baldpates and past Dunn Falls. Spectacular weekend. Hated to come home.

We unofficially participated as we did trail maintenance all weekend between Full goose Shelter and Goose eye in the Mahoosucs. Someone else was supposed to do tat section but we saw noone on the trail that day. We took some cool shots but I keep forgettingt obring my camera to work where I have a high speed connection. I try to post some soon.

    Default Gooseye to Full Goose

    Hi Grimace,
That section was supposed to be from the Maine line to Grafton, which is a hefty chunk, I'm guessing the person who did it (and I know it was covered) went in the Notch Trail ==>north through the Notch and up the Arm and Old Speck, perhaps looping back the Speck Pond Trail even to Success Pond Rd. Ideally the entire AT is to be covered, but for instance I spent Sat. night @ the Baldpate shelter so the first 2.2 miles from Grafton were not covered Sunday morning. If you have some good images, you are welcome to join in on this - you wouldn't have had to be signed up ahead of time. Either email me for more info on how to submit your photos or check out the website.

Scamp would be happy to have you "unofficially". Were you doing maintenance for the AMC? Lots of blowdowns?

We're going to put the toss aways on line and save what we hope were the best shots for Scamp to use in the book

    Great pics!

I took the section, Elk Garden to Creek Junction in VA, because nobody seemed to want it, and it seemed like a good way to spend a weekend. It was. Saturday was a great day to shoot, but Sunday was grey with t'storms and tornados in the area. Fog and clouds may be great for mood pictures, but it was mostly just a grey soup.

I need help with picking my 8-10. The pictures I've seen all look better than mine to my untrained eye. This is ok, but I do need some feedback. I have photo-envy. See my gallery here on Whitblaze. All but the last picture are from Sunday.

    Thanks!

Does anyone know what ever happened to this project? I know they were looking for a book deal, and I'm not sure that's not easy, but it seems to have dissapeared? I can't even find the site.

With all these people sending even photos, I thought it would be nice to pick one from each and at the very least, put a photo gallery online...I'll do it if given the images!

Last I heard, several publishers had turned the idea down. With the Web site gone now too, I'd bet it's not going anywhere.

It was still a fun way to spend a weekend though!

True, it was fun.. but don't you think this book or nothing philosophy isn't right? I would love to see everyone's photos. Since they already got them, how difficult would it be to put them on a website?

I think that is a good idea too. At least let the people that like the AT see the pics.

I did not take any pics but I did help two folks with access advice for the trail. One at the Sugarloaf area and one at Rainbow Stream.

I thought the concept for the book was great.
