Not me, but there is great hiking in Eglin AFB. The Florida Trail Association (FTA) has a chapter there. Look 'em up Tom Daniel is a great guy, and a heckuva trail builder. In the past 2 years the FTA completed a new section on the base that I haven't hiked yet.

I want to do some hiking in Torreya prolly next fall when it gets less buggy. I'm not a panhandler (I thought that this was what this thread was about). I live in G'ville.
I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.
I"m in SE alabama....about 6 miles from the FL line. Just got back from Franklin NC....about 6.5 hours from here. Enjoy Pcola........Go Navy....Beat Army....bill
I had to do a double take..I thought the tread said pan-HANDLER hikers.
Would make hiking any trail a different experience...

Thought this thread was about something else. Sorry. While I'm here, does anyone have a dollar they can spare?
Well, I'm in the Panhandle, and I do occasionally hike, but I agree with Johnny; this area is really more for paddling. I head to the mountains to hike.
My wife would love it if I got partners to hike with instead of solo.
sorry, all you bums, for the confusion. i think the term "panhandler" has gone the way of "hobo"...there aint none of them left.
hikes in rain, lets keep in touch. once im settled in i want to make some trips north to section hike and we could share the ride.

Sounds like a plan, if you don't mind out of shape hikers. My new job is a killer for my former workout routine!
I live in Tallahassee, just got back from a small section of the A.T. Amicolola Falls to Unicoi gap. I go to torreya all the time... really the only place to get some decent rock under your feet. Meet a father-son team out for the night from pensacola while I was up there...
I like it! Let's do.
Count me in for Torreya if there's a get together!
I am here in Panama City,WB FL meet in Torreya is a great idea. We hike and camp there several times a year. Nice for Fla....
I love hiking up there. I want to come up that way soon while it is cool. Any takers for a couple of day trips?

I also live in Panama City...Torreya is where I went to do my shakedown hikes for the A.T.
I'm in southeast Fl and may want to join in on the Torreya meet.
