My Favorite - My son doing TaeKwando on the Wall ruins
.....Someday, like many others who joined WB in the early years, I may dry up and dissapear....
Mile Post Castle Ruins looks like it could have been made not that long ago. Hats off to the nice work of the stone masons.
I enjoyed this post on the Hadrian’s Wall Path. My husband and I walked in August of 2013. Coming from Florida, I found it chilly. I can’t imagine walking it in the middle of January.
I walked this route as part of my hike across Western Europe and I found to be very easy (as most European trails are) on both ends and pretty in the middle. I think it's possible in all times of year, you might get light snow in the 20 miles before Greenhead, in mid winter.

I hiked the entire wall path in April 2015. Stayed in B&B's instead of camping (not my usual MO). We did run into a few backpackers along the way but didn't "mingle".
Had a great time. Hike was not physically difficult at all, mostly sheep pastures. Booked thru "Mac's Adventures".
I'm glad to see more discussion about Hadrian's Wall on White Blaze. I loved this World Heritage site and wish that more Americans would learn about it. It is a perfect for a 2-week hiking vacation. To help people learn about the walk, I wrote the book Hadrian's Wall Path: Hiking into History. Seems as if there are a lot of people who do not know about this coast-to-coast walk.
