My family and I will be hiking the Bowen-Baker Loop in the Never Summer Wilderness and our 1st night campsite is Parika Lake, which is above timberline. I know thunderstorms are common in the Rockies during the afternoons and I'm a little concerned about camping there. Since all my backpacking has been in the Southern Appalachians, I've never had to worry about this. I would like some feeback from folks who hike in the Rockies. Thanks.
