Of course you should eat your first breakfast! This'll be second breakfast. And don't forget- elevensies, luncheon, tea, supper and dinner!

NOTE: If you feel sick in any way, DO NOT COME ON THIS HIKE. I'm very serious, I don't care if you "think you can make it", you can't. I have swine flu now and it is terrible, do not make yourself or anyone else ill. I will probably be coming (because I still have two weeks to recover, but we'll see).

Sorry I didn't post sooner... just returned from a trip without internet access.

All sounds GREAT, and plan to be there!

    Hope you're feeling better SL!

    Happy Trails!

I'm feeling much better, thanks nox and faarside! (I'm feeling really out of shape though- gonna be hanging in the rear of the group, I think)

So, I'm just going to post here very often to try to keep this thread alive, in case anyone else wants to join us in the last minute.

And by the way, I accidentally deleted all private messages concerning the hike (I meant to move them- oops), so if anyone sent me a question to which I have not yet responded, please send it again!

    So far we have:
    Me
    Nox2825 (+ girlfriend?)
    Ernman (+ friend?)
    Timebreaks
    Faarside
    Punkinpuss (Ernman's friend)
    Hobbot (I think?)
    maybe a couple others

I'm sure it might be different next weekend, but i was on the NJ side of watergap this weekend and it was a muddy mess. 3 of the rock creek crossings were underwater. I wore my mesh trail runners and ended up with brown, soaked socks about 10 minutes into it. If it rains a few more times between now and then it might be best to wear some boots or just bring an extra pair of socks or two. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some nice weather (maybe a little snow.. not too much though). See you all there!!

I'm hoping for snow too- and that'd freeze up the mud a bit! (As stupid as this sounds, I just got brand new Scarpas to replace my ratty old stretched out boots, and now I don't want to wear them, 'cause I don't want them to get muddy! I know, might as well get 'em muddy now- but they're so nice and clean!!!)

Looking forward to next weekend! I'm going to be spending Friday night at the motel in DWG. Would anyone be interested in meeting early for (first) breakfast at the diner before we hit the trailhead?

Yes, I am in for the hike and yes I am bringing cookies (not sure what type yet)...it is looking doubtful on any of my friends tagging along but I'll continue to apply pressure. Are there any 4-pawed friends still coming? I have to find alternate cookies for them if chocolate might be involved

Timebreaks, I'd be interested in meeting up at the diner for first breakfast What time? The one in DWG? I'll PM you with my cell phone #.

And by the way, the weather is looking like high of 48, low of 26, clear/partly cloudy for Sat and Sun. Of course, given weather predictions, that is simply what it will not be.

Interested? In breakfast? What a question. I'm interested, but I'll see what time I'd have to leave, etc... The DWG Diner? I like that place.

I'm cool with meeting whenever everyone wants to get there. I'm going to be in DWG already, so it's all the same to me! It all depends on how early everyone can get there and how early we want to be on the trail. ShelterLeopard had said 9:30 at the trailhead, so 8:30 at the diner?

Sounds good to me! I'll try to come to breakfast, but we'll see if I can get up on time!

So, I think meeting at 9:30, leaving at 9:45 sounds about right. (And anyone who wants to can meet at the DWG Diner at 8:30 for breakfast)

That's the one- I don't know how many of us are meeting there, but I think timebreaks, Hobbot and I will be there so far. I'm also bringing scones to the trailhead.

I'll try to meet at the diner as well. It depends on if I stay up there friday night or if I drive up in the morning. I'm hoping to drive up friday and camp out somewhere but I probably won't make up my mind until friday afternoon... Either way I look forward to meeting everyone!!

I'm definitely not leaving until early on Saturday, but I only live about an hour away. (I would come up on Friday, but I'm going to a concert on Friday night)
