Hmm- I think the cars may be safer in the trolley lot... Though I really do like the idea of having my car right there when we're done. (And let's face it, who would want to steal my car???)

Maybe you can call some business in the area like the outfitter.

That's funny Panzer, because that's exactly what I just realized. I was looking in my guidebook to see if it mentioned parking, saw the outfitter's number, and thought- huh, if there's anywhere or anyone who'll know about hiker parking, it should be the outfitter. Will respond soon with what I find out.

    Hi all-

Unfortunate as it is, there is a good chance I might not be able to participate. I injured my knee yesterday evening while hauling and stacking logs, and will be out of work today and Friday recovering. I've had worse injuries, but the swelling is really limiting my range of motion, and I've been advised to keep it iced, elevated, and to avoid strenuous activity.

I'll see how I feel late Friday night into Saturday morning, but as of right now, it's not looking good for my being there - sorry Over fifty, the body takes a bit longer to recover from such things.

In the event I can make it, I'll check for PM's and eMail, and check the thread prior to leaving just in case there are any last minute changes in the plan. I can still hope for the best!

    Happy Trails!

I hope your knees feels better faarside.... If you decide to go you can hang with me in the back. My knees are hurting from hiking Loyalsock this week. I don't want to be the only one limping through the woods!!

Bummer faarside! But as Nox said, there'll be plenty of us you can hang with in the back. Sounds like half of us have knee or ankle problems. So if you do decide to come, we'll be in the SoBo trailhead parking lot at 9:30. If anyone wants my cell number, please PM me!!! I just don't neccesarily want to post my number in public.

And we'll be in the DWG Diner at 8:30.

PS- WE CAN park at the trailhead overnight, I called the outfitter. And it's supposedly pretty safe. Will anyone else be parking there?

About 15 cars'll fit there- sounds like most of us'll be parking there, and it sounds safe.

Sorry to hear that, Faarside. Is your knee feeling any better? Hopefully you can come.

I will also have my car at the parking lot.

Hmm, I suppose I should find something bright orange.

    Current forecast:
-Sat: Chance of rain during the day / Slight chance of rain during night / High of 56 / Low of 46

Thanks to all for the well wishes... There is still quite a bit of swelling and pain. The ice and 3-Advil 3x/day helps. It's sunny and REAL windy here today, but I plan to give the knee a trial-run [well, not actually a run, but a walk] later this afternoon/evening to see what's up and to decide whether I might head out for the hike in the A.M.

Have a GREAT day - I'll post again later.

    Happy Trails!

I'm putting my sleeping bag in a separate water proof trash bag. Don't want to sleep in a wet bag all night.
