i was in a motorcycle accident about 2 years ago where i broke my femur completely in half (laying on the road and my foot was next to my head) needless to say i had a titanium rod and 6 screws put in. since the accident even now i still have aches and occasional pains in my leg (which im told from my doctor are normal) the reason im writing this is because up untill a few days ago i figured i would be able to hike the trail expecting some pain but not unlike the normal pain i face with it on a daily basis ( i work a very physical job) i just took a trip out to boise idaho and when i got off the plane my leg was somewhat sore but nothing out of the ordinary... then the next 2 days i was in very bad pain to the point where i was limping pretty bad.
i think the altitude is what did it, but my concern is will i have the same problem with the altitude of the hike?? am i going to be in terrible pain to the point where i cant hike? is there anyone that has thru hiked that has metal in their leg/foot that have any input on this? thanks
