I tried to repair a string of lights once. It's actually quite simple if approached logically. I concluded that I had a defective socket which I cut out, respliced and shrink wrapped the wire. I plugged it in and all the lights instantly worked at about ten times their normal intensity. Within 2 seconds all the insulation melted into a mass of bubbling green goo. Thats about when the bare wires touched. I never had another problem with those lights.

I don't get it, what's the punch?

Sadly, not so. Parrallel won't work either. Some tech on your base ought to be able to make a transformer. All it takes is wire and an iron bar.

The lights are ok, it's the competition to have the most gaudy house on the block that sucks.
No one really knows exactly when Jesus was born.
The time of year is not mentioned in scripture, so it's probably not important.
Until a few years ago I didn't even know that there was no such name as "Jesus" until he was long gone. Yeshua, or Joshua, means "savior" in Hebrew - more significant than a name made up by later Christians who either couldn't pronounce Yeshua or felt the need to distance themselves from the Jewish roots of the "new" religion (which, to the early Jewish adherents was not "new", it was the beginning of the eternal kingdom of David, via his progeny.
