Default Camp Creek Bald to Davenport Gap

I plan on section hiking this area in a few weeks. Anyone know the trail conditions especially at Max Patch, Bluff and Camp Creek Bald? Any road closures?

I-40 at NC mile marker 3 there is a rock slide. I am not sure if Harmon Den exit is open. But 15 is the last detour exit for sure.

It just snowed a good bit up the TN/NC line. I would contact Hemlock Hollow Hostel and Cabins, Bluff Mtn Outfitters, and Standing Bear for latest conditions.

Last I heard, Curtis at Standing Bear said that SnowBird to Max Patch was a disaster area. Heavy blowdowns.

I heard a northbound thru-hiker say that he had to deal with chest high snow drifts at Max Patch!

    Default MAx Patch

I can see Max Patch from my deck with a birding scope. I can see the grass. The snow is finally melted up there. I haven't driven there, as I suspect the roads are muddy and soft. But the snow has melted down in Del Rio.
