    Default ULA rain wrap

Anyone ever use one of these? Looks like a nice light weight alternative to rain pants....

I did not see the price, but I made one for about $12. They work great easy on and easy off. Great when its intermitent rain.

I use the classic Hefty Trash Bag rain skirt. Cheap and lasts forever.

Yep - I LOVE the ULA Rain Wrap! During our (my wife Tag-along and I) '09 AT thru hike I sent my rain pants home in early May.

We reviewed gear in one of our post hike Trail Journal entries. Here's what we said in that review...

ULA Rain Wrap – This three-ounce wonder became our lower half cover of choice during rainy days. To avoid a wet clammy feeling, wear a lightweight leg base layer, or hike it up so that bare skin is not touching the silnylon material. FINAL VERDICT: RECOMMENDED

I was about to buy the ULA Rain Wrap when I realized the only pants on my backpack inventory list was my Exofficio convertible pants, Bought a pair of Mountain Hardwear Cohesion Rain Pants instead of the wrap and a XL Charcoal Packa.
Will probably still buy the ULA Rain Wrap at some point.

I use the rain wrap by ULA and generally like it...however there is a problem with the sewing and position of velcro tabs - they do not line up properly, saying that I don't know how much it matters

When I hiked through Vermont I used one and found it okay, but a little odd. Lots of rustling noise. Then I somehow lost it and functioned fine without. This year, I'll take my rain jacket and a cheap small poncho that can be improvised into a wrap if needed.

I made us a couple of knock-offs. We like them, and use them alot more than I thought we would.

    -laundrimat "skirt"
    -groundcloth for breaks
-I sewed some velcro to our tarp to match, and we can use them as vestibules now for really crappy weather.
