    Default GSMNP trail conditions

Our son is currently hiking the trail and is somewhere between Gatlinburg and Hot Springs. We were just wondering what the trail conditions are currently like up there. Anyone know more than what is available in the forecasts? Thanks!

The AT runs along the ridgeline through that section and would not be impacted much by the rains that we have had. There are no river crossings that would be affected by heavy rain. The trail is clear of blow downs and in very good condition. He shouldnt have any problems getting to Hot Springs (or beyond).

    Smile Thanks!

Thanks for the replies! Not being familiar with the trail, and seeing the weather coverage on t.v. allows much room for imagination! I'll sleep better tonight!
