    Default Bad weather in Connecticut

A line of powerful storms came through yesterday afternoon, with reports of hail & a possible tornado in rme area of the AT. Lots of thrus here this time of year. I certainly hope everyone is safe.

Scooped up handfuls of hailstones and put them in my mouth before they could melt in my hands - a delightful summer pleasure.

You're right. Housatonic Meadows state campground has been closed to walk-in registration. Apparently some small twisters and severe thunderstorms moved through sections of the state.

Some wind (some say tornado) knocked the top off a tree in Sharon yesterday. The tornado and 'near-tornado' (whatever that is) activity was is Bristol and Westport, well away from the AT. Last month a tornado touched down briefly in Bridgeport.

A tornado running through Bridgeport just might make some improvements.

I teach High School there. Haven't been in town since summer break started. Wonder if I'll notice any trees or buildings damaged a month after the fact.
