made some new ones with buckles. i like this a lot better. plus you have an extra buckle in case one breaks on your pack. it's about the size of a small sternum strap buckle...

It's a fun project but they're mostly for novelty. I have yet to see any thru hiker wear one.

This is a very interesting thing, and the greatest thing about it is that it's very exciting. If we'll think about it from the point of survival, then we'll see that some small bracelet can save the most valuable thing you have - your life. Thanks for the information. I will definitely make such a bangle for me.

Cool but I think a pair of survival suspenders would be more practical. A bracelet is for decoration, suspenders hold up your pants. If my shirt had a pocket I would also make a survival pocket protector. Sorry, my nerd is showing.

I keep mine in the corner with my bow drill. Never know when the 10 or 12 Bic lighters laying around the house will all refuse to light at the same time!

This is made with mirror image dragon knots... Over 18 feet of AirCore Pro Dyneema from Bozeman Mountain Works... And yes, I've had to use it on the trail... Once to hang my food bag... Never leave home without it...
