    Default Reflective bear bag line

Where can I order reflective food bag line (rope)? Had some but lost it. It was orange, lightweight, and would glow like blazes when my headlamp hit it at night.

You have to be careful as to what type of line you buy for hanging food, as some types will snag and you'll never get your food bag down! We're looking into buying a lightweight rope (Fling-it) used by arborists - http://www.wesspur.com/Throw-line/zi...hrow-line.html. The only drawback is that we have to buy a 180' spool ... might try to sell the extras at cost if others are interested.

    That's it. Thanks.

I thought that Triptease wasn't recommended for bear bagging, because the sheath is quite abrasive.

Ryalusa, is the zing-it or fling-it stuff flexible like the standard 2mm cord you get at the outfitters? It almost looks like brick mason line from the picture. I had some throw bag cord years ago and it was waxy & sorta stiff which made it hard to coil. Really weird but worked great.

Spokes, I got a free sample of the Fling-it rope from http://www.allgearinc.com/AGTL.htm. It is waxy and just a bit stiff, which actually makes it less likely to tangle, but yet still flexible.

I use Spectra, too. I find that the "Natural" color is near white and is easy enough to spot at night. It is amazing stuff - it doesn't snag and is frictionless (like using a pulley!). I got Part SL800 - Spectra1000 - 800#

800 is maybe overkill, but I would get the same again. I think it will last a lifetime, though.

I just bought the Equinox brand http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___21707 I went to get the Kelty Triptease but didn't see a difference between them accept for the price (Equinox is cheaper) and it also comes on a spool which is nice.

When I bought it at the store, I didn't see that info available and the Equinox was cheaper at the time.

I use Wally World line from their camping section. Never had an issue.

Recommended or not, you're correct on the sheathing being abrasive.

I use a flat braided spectra cord with a polyurethane coating. It isn't reflective but it's slippery, smooth, and bright yellow.

What about paracord? I've seen some reflective + glow in the dark stuff.
