:banana Attention Roanoke, VA Area: Group Overnight Hike -- Saturday, March 19, 2011

    How is everyone doing?

This weekend I'm planning a special personal celebration overnight hike. I got great results back from my doctor and I'm not willing to waste a sunny weekend!

The plan is to do a 311 to Daleville section, overnighting Saturday.

So far we have Hikerhead, J5Man, Hobbs, and myself.

Plan is to meet up at ~8:00 a.m., starting hiking at ~9:00 at 311. Cars left at both ends. Sorry if this is too short notice!

    Hope to see you there!

Cool!! Looking forward to it. One suggestion....we meet in front of Outdoor Trails and leave our cars there, at the end of the parking lot away from the store. A little safer place to park.....what ya think?

Well, I'm not going to be driving, so I'll let drivers figure the details out here.

    Sorry about your mom.

However weird it is to say that and wish this at the same time, I hope you have a nice birthday, anyway.

GR, I'll bring my other hammock and the tent and you can decide in the parking lot which one to try. It looks like sat night is going to be nice so the hammock should be ok to use.

Do you think we can get a shuttle from OT to the trailhead?! That is a long way to walk! haha

I will pick up Gracefull Roll and meet whoever in Daleville. I'm Ok leaving my car at either trailhead. Should be a great weekend to hike!..........and a great reason to!!

The trail actually goes behind the hotel, convienent stores, bank and comes out farther down Rt 220 than the park and ride, towards Outdoor Trails. And it's all down hill. YOU CAN DO IT!!

As I am on an achedemic calender, I'm going to be unable to join for this great new "get together fever" sparking from Roanoke.
I've got three free weeks starting the second week of May--a lovely time to be in the woods--let's try and aim for another backpacking get together around the central VA area. I'd love to meet you guys!
