yup it was why i eventualy gave up got off the computer and hiked to buchanon to the copper top had a beer and a night of awsome shelter camping with out tents..........even if this wasnt a funny thread i dnt find that right to use tents in shelter.

Just starting my read-thru of this thread but already I have to take exception.

The only thing on your list that might not have been on top of Springer, at one time or another, is probably the 1,000 rounds.

A thousand rounds maybe. Couple hundred, probably not. Of course it wasn't 9mm but change the caliber and the meals to tack biscuits and it ain't far off from how it used to be done.

Even with the bounce box, he's only at 2000 rounds. You guys realize that's less than 1 bullet per mile. And that is only taking into account staying on the trail itself.

Or...Fishing poles! How many times do I see posters talking about all those water sources. My Wal Mart sells bait down here. Yeah. I WILL have squid on the dehydrator tomorrow! I mean, You hook it, throw it in the water, it hydrates and BAM, fish on. That's what I'm talking about. Hey! You know, you could probably use the poles to roast the fish. OMG! Triple use!!! ONE ITEM!!!

Get a thick enough pole and you can use it as a bear bat in case the ammo runs out.

Please include a folding shovel. You will need this to dig poop holes and also to trench around your tent every night. You also might need a hammer to drive stakes in the ground and hammer nails into trees. Don't forget your hatchet either.

Get one of them fancy stoves that works with gas then you can bring the chainsaw. Why you wanna spend all that time in camp chopping wood when there are critters that need shooting?

i agree with ur right to use the shelter even with ur tent but when its a 6 person shelter and its full with only 4 people because u use your tent how is that at all fair to a late comer who needs or wants to use the shelter as much as you... i only use a space as big as my body i dont need to use half for myself and leave people in the rain.. dont be rude now..

You can't mail rounds of ammunition! I've tried that once and almost got arrested. Just I thought I give you heads up on the ammo.

Um, I dunno if this is a serious post or not but you can most certainly mail ammo. There are all kinds of places online that do it.

They should have got there earlier! To avoid this problem, even when hiking alone, I always bring a 6 person tent and set it up in the shelter, then keep making a lot of noise - to make it seem like there might be 6 or 8 people in the tent.....

Gives the voices in the head an outlet too. The shelters always seem to clear out when I start arguing in 6 different voices about whether to eat them raw or cook them first.

The location should not matter. Should be a hanging offense the entire trail. The beer and the color of the necks may change but it's still alcohol abuse.

Paracord is advertised as being pretty strong.
