    Default Rockhound

rockhound a.k.a. pebble puppy is in Johnson City Medical Center preparing to undergo double by-pass surgery tomorrow. he was hiking near Surgar Grove 2 days ago when he felt a lot of pain in his back and was feeling sick. he went to the ER yesterday in Marion, Va. where the EKG showed he was having a heart attack. they shipped him down to J.C. shortly after. he was attempting a thru-hike.
anyway, if any of you know him and want to send a card or e-card to him i'm sure he would appreciate it. i know i did when i had my attack and surgery. his name is Barry Knight

I spoke with him today by phone... sounds pretty good, considering. Said he was at the Baptist Church hostel in Troutdale and woke up sick to stomach. Thought it was from eating too much, which he had done.

Later in night, got worse pain of his entire his life. Got someone to help him. Had a 90% blockage.

He has family and had a visitor when I called. He says he might even get back out on trail this year, though I wonder.

THANKS to Lone Wolf for the info on sending Rockhound/Pebble Puppy a greeting!

Sorry to hear this, hope your surgery goes well. It's no fun having your hiking interupted just so you can be hooked up to the wall in CCU.

I talked to Barry/Rockhound this morning and he is in good spirits somehow. He'll be going into surgury around noon. Since he can't sit still and keeps taking off the stuff they have hooked up to him I'm guessing the nurses will be happy for a little break. Please keep him in your thoughts today.
