    Unhappy My dog died today

My dog Cuervo had a stroke or siezure this morning and passed away. He was my hiking buddy and my best friend. He was almost ten years old. I was able to say goodbye before his last breathe. It is a sad sad day.

    I will miss you Cuervo!

You can view a few pictures of him in the "meet my dog" thread I started a while ago.

    Thank you

feeling your loss, all you can do is remember all the good times together!
and realize you gave cuervo the best life he could of ever needed or wanted.
as much as you loved him, he loved you 10x as much.

I am so sorry for your loss - dogs are awesome, and hiking dog buddies are the absolute best.

    Keep the good memories.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It is one of the most awful and helpless feelings to lose a pet.
    Seek, and you shall find.

Yea! What CrumbSnatcher and sheepdog said for sure. That is a pain I know all too well. Sorry! Your loss will make me cherish my dog, Ben, even more on our weekend day hike tomorrow.

I am sorry to hear of your loss.

My energetic dog hiked the Long Trail with me in the 1980s. We were in Maine coming back from some work when I went out for some errands and forgot to tie her to the camp-trailer. She ran out into the traffic and was hit. A lot of regrets of course.

One regret in hindsight was not getting a dog to replace her later which would have done a lot for the family. After your mourning time I hope you are able to find people or another pet to fill the aching void.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm glad you were able to be with him during his last moments. I think it helps the healing process....for me it did, anyway.

There is another dog out there for you and how lucky he/she will be to have an owner who includes him on hiking trips.
