Mary has opted out for personal/family reasons. So I'll be hitting the trail solo. Rethinking and repacking gear, trying to get pack weight down. Still planning to hit the Approach Trail on the 19th, staying at Black Gap Shelter, and summiting Springer the morning of the 20th. I'll do a little Spring Equinox dance up there, then probably eat second breakfast at the Springer Shelter with all the folks just rolling out of their sacks ... See you all out there!

Sorry to hear about mary, i know some issues leading up to the hike left some doubt if she could make it or not ... glad to hear you're still gonna be at springer on the 20th ... we should meet up and begin our walk north ... if our pace is totally different we can meet up along the way for updates and check in's ... be cool to begin and keep track of someone i've been talking to for awhile now on the internet ... spliting chores is always easier than doing everything solo. =)

I'm a 29 year-old male with Cystic Fibrosis, a recessive and deadly genetic disease affecting most critically the lungs, and also the pancreas, liver, and intestines. I am dedicating my hike to people everywhere who currently have or have had Cystic Fibrosis and especially to my own personal friends with C.F. who have since passed away.

I'll have to find out what time the hiker hostel normally shuttles its crew in the morning and let you know ... does anyone know their schedule perhaps?
