Just got back from my outfitter/re-supplier, Roads Rivers and Trails in Milford (they're the best!). Had to drop off yet more stuff and they wanted a picture for their "year book" and to admire my newly shaved head and Emily gave me my trail name--GI Jane (attention Mountain Squid). Yay! I've got a trail name. Just a few more hours before I leave for the train. After more than a year of research and preparation, it's finally about to begin. The biggest adventure of my life. The hardest thing I will ever do. The last few days have brought so many emotions. Looking forward to meeting a lot of you on the trail. I expect to step onto the trail on February 28th (MS please update my start date).

Hey Darkage

March 20th is a definate. I'm shooting for the approach trail arch at 10 AM, and will attempt to make Stover Creek Shelter. Been training here in Idaho at 3000 feet elevation, and doing 1500 to 2000 feet elevation gains... should be ready. See everyone on the first day of spring.

Kazibo, I'm glad to see it! We're few, it seems. And it also seems we are also starting on different dates.... I suppose rather than getting hung up on the age thing, I'll choose to enjoy people (of all ages) as I meet them....
