attempted a thru in '07 and screwed my knee up in the Smokies. Not sure if 2012 will be a thru or not but will definately be out there for awhile.

I have four hikers to be included in the 2012 thru hiker registry! None of us have trail names yet so, for now we are Dean, Lisa, Forest, and River Rainwater. Our sons will be 16 and 10 on the hike!
We are starting on or around March 15th at Springer. We will probably skip the approach trail if possible! We have been planning this for awhile now and are ready to quit our jobs and go.

any additional info that you want the world to know: I'll be hiking to raise money for a charity for a dog who can't walk. I'm burned out, a gypsy at heart and have been in the same job/place for 6 years which is a record for me. Maybe I'll come back when I'm done with my hike and be happier here. I'll see. I am single, no kids, 37 and have wanted to do this for 10 years, so 2012 is my year, my time to follow this dream. I'll be going as lightweight as I can in other areas in order to carry some camera equipment.
