DIY Meteor Bivy MLD question

I am planning to make one of these using MLD's plan's. My question to anyone who has one is if I could fit a 72" long by 2.5" high pad in it without compressing my bag? thanks

I've heard that it's the roomiest bivy, but probably the only way to know for sure is to make one out of some cheap material and try it yourself. Maybe an old bedsheet...
