Default Wanting to do a 3 day hike from Newfound Gap to Davenport Gap

I'm looking at doing this hike with possibly 3-4 other people in mid/late october. I know you have to have a permit and all but is there places at all to tent camp along this stretch. I'd rather do the tent rather than shelter. Thanks,

No, you are stuck with the shelters. Getting caught illegal camping is expensive. If you have not been to this site you should read up on restriction before you leave. http://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisi...ap-july-11.pdf

If you want to tent, use the Benton Mackaye trail.
