If you only have a few weeks it's a great trail to hike. Sometimes it's so scenic it doesn't seem real. Sublime is the best word to describe it.

The JMT is THE very next trail I'd like to hike after finishing the AT. I need to get moving on the AT so I'm not 65 when I start to experience other trails. The JMT is top of the list because of it's stunning beauty. Plus I've never hike out west, and figure the JMT would be a nice immersion into western hiking.

Good choice attroll,,, go get it bro!!!

It does fuel the desire even more. I try to watch these a few times just so I remember to stay fit and be active. I'm planning to hike a section of the JMT
next year from Ansel Adams Wilderness to Happy Isles. Sadly, I can only do this portion due to the limited time I can stay away from work.

Thanks so much for posting the videos. I really needed it. I've been out of the woods for far too long.

I'm planning on doing a video project as well when I attempt my thru, forever from now. I'm going to try to post a few video's from Sweden on my travel blog. I have a week long trip in Iceland planned too. I'll post something about it when I figure it all out.

That looks amazing! Unfortunately I will be bumming hard by the time I get there. Sweden is already expensive as hell and Iceland even more so. Luckily I will be with an Icelander that knows all the secrets.

Finally got around to making a video of my 2006 hike in which I hiked about 150 miles of the JMT. Acclimation problems prevented me from finishing the whole trail but the video gives you a good idea of the spectacular scenery.

From Loreena McKennitt's album Book of Secrets, the song is entitled "Night Ride Across the Caucasus" - here's the link to her website.
