    Default AT elevation data

A zip file with the ATC 2009 trail centerline track points (lat, lon) is available with USGS elevation data for each point. USGS DEM data is 80% 10m data and 20% 3m data (LiDAR). The zip file is described at
    http://web.eecs.utk.edu/~dunigan/at/atelev.html

The data has been used to construct trail elevation profiles between shelters

Sadly after 20 years, eecs.utk.edu will no longer host the AT shelter pages.
The AT data now resides at
    http://tnlandforms.us/at/googleat.php

the elevation data is summarized at http://tnlandforms.us/at/atelev.html
