I see two problems with that brush.
    1) the handle is still too long
    2) too many bristles.
How many teeth do you still have ?
Do you need to brush them all at once ?
    Verdict : still too heavy.

Heh! Someone over on Google+ suggested I pull out every third bristle, then trim the remaining bristles 10% shorter for further weight savings.

    Now we are getting somewhere...
    (them Googolites know everything)

If you really want to do it correctly, get your Dremel out and drill some holes in that handle. I bet you can save another gram just with that.
And let it air dry after use, water is heavy.

Well, bad news about the Scuba toothbrush. It's huge. I'll still give it a try, but it won't be coming along. Radius (the makers of the Scuba) also make a kids toothbrush in the same weird design, and in the interest of finding a small non-prison toothbrush, I'm going to place an order. I'll report when I get it.

I cut off the handle on every toothbrush I buy, even when not on trail. As I heard once, "if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready". I also use tooth powder instead of paste. Why carry the water weight of paste?

If I bought a box of those prison style brushes and sold them for 2 for 5 bucks (thats including shipping.) How many of you would be interested in buying them?
