I got a Nikkon Coolpix AW100 camera with GPS, lightweight marmott gloves, 13L uberlight CF3 drysac, and reusable hand warmers which are really cool.

Got several more items related to backpacking, including food items, clothing, etc. The WM bag was the big item and a big surprize.
The Puma is my go-to winter bag in harsh conditions, but I have the microfiber edition, regular, with 36oz of down at 3 lbs 7oz total weight. The goretex must add 7 more ozs, and they list a regular as having 37 oz of down. Minor points. I don't know where they come up with the -25F rating---my Puma stops working FOR ME at around -10F.

I got a bunch of grief from my family about wanting to be "homeless". My grandmother even started a eulogy about how I was a good grandson.

Wow. From 1980 to 1987 I was "homeless" and living out of a backpack in the hills around Boone, NC. Then I found 40 acres in Sugar Grove and set up a canvas tipi with a woodstove for the next 15 years. Good old Boone.

Sounds like you all must have been good boys and girls this year!

I have already started my lists for my next birthday and next Christmas (UL sleeping bag and pack).

I love the fact that many of you mentioned your 'family gifts'. (spouses hiking, kids coming home, baby announcements, etc)

I can't wait for some snow to use my new snowshoes! Finally, I have a winter sport!

new patagonia long sleeve hiking shirt - un-describable stink in old one that couldn't wash out
    new merino wool glove liners
a little ultra light day pack - stuffs into your pocket like a pack cover - GSI - might use it for something (like a grocery run)
2 fuel canisters for my pocket rocket - should handle 2 weeks of backpacking for me
some jeans and a shirt because my wife thinks I look like a dirty hiker (or an office guy) all the time - "going out clothes" she called them
my 6-year old made me a bunch of art too
candy, lip balm, a handfull of other stuff too
I sort of celebrate it more as a solstice party but happy to give and receive
