What an awesome week. I got my house rented out while I will be hiking, and told my boss of my plan to hike the AT. His response was that I had a job when I got back if I want it. Awesome. Looking forward to the trip of a lifetime.

I'm sure there are some here that thing your boss is nuts for letting you leave to go hiking. Afterall, he'll have to do without, and maybe train someone to take your place. Imagine? You're probably not worth it.

Then again, it sounds like your boss may be more enlightened than most.
