I plan to start a northbound hike on Saturday, July 28. See you on the trail.
I'm been thinking about doing a NOBO starting sometime next week, but the more I think about it, I might go SOBO. I can probably bribe one of my friends into driving me to Journey's end and then I can take the bus home from Williamstown. Doing it NOBO gets a little complicated.

Heading out to hike the Jmt in August and want to follow up with the Long Trail. Maybe the first week of September if I survive out west.
Heading out on the road....See ya'll on the trail.
Half of the people can be part right all of the time,Some of the people can be all right part of the time. But all the people can't be all right all the time
Im heading out to do it on July 31st with a friend going nobo. Good luck to everyone and hope to meet some of you.
Jealous of everyone doing an E2E, I did a SOBO last year but this year I'll only be able to do 4-5 days
nobo ... starting late september ... lookin' forward

Starting Sobo Sept. 16, can't wait!!!
Heading Nobo on September 8. Taking a train into Pittsfield. Will be a short day on Saturday but will hit Vermont mud on Sunday.
Hope you guys have a great hike. The cooler temperatures will make those long climbs much more bearable.
Just finished my E2E yesterday. 26 days SOBO. 3 near0s (5 miles or less to town for the night). Starting to get an early fall feel to the air in the morning (45 yesterday in Williamstown) and some color is already starting to show in the trees. Meet 6 or so NOBO's starting out as I finished.

There isn't much mud in Vermont right now. Quite dry. I finished my E2E on Saturday in 26 days including two zeros and two neros.
Nice meeting you Slo-go'en!
Yep, I can say I was not too sad about the lack of mud.
2012 will go down as one of the best years to hike the Long Trail. Very little mud, lots of sunny days, mountaintops views without being socked in.

Yep... My feet were only wet 2 days of the entire hike. Definitely a great hike weather wise. Warm too.
