Last night I redesigned my wood burning stove and built a new one. I was using an old can of some kind that was two inches tall as my pot stand on top. I am looking to use hardware cloth as a pot stand this time around because I had trouble efficiently getting the flame to the bottom of the pot with the cut up can. Has anyone else used this configuration? I used a 2 inch tall piece of hardware cloth but found most of the flames escaping out the side. Should I lower the height of the cloth to 1.5 or 1 inch? Should I look to make a combination of can with a hardware cloth top? I'll fool with it more later today on my own, but any help from past experience would be great.
