Transport to AT Trailhead in Front Royal

I am planning a hike through SNP in May from Front Royal to Rockfish Gap. I don't want to leave my vehicle, as I live in Bedford, south of there. I plan to have my wife pick me up. If I take the train to Alexandria, I suppose I could just catch a cab, that would probably cost more than the train ride. Any suggestions? I know my wife doesn't want to drive to DC to drop me off.

If you will be arriving in Northern Va on a weekend or late pm on a friday And you get off at Woodbridge, I could pick you up and drive you to Front Royal. I've been wanting to start some Trail Angel activities.

Thanks Maureen, it looks like the Amtrak doesn't go directly into Woodbridge, unless I want to pay double and ride for 8 hours! Yikes.

Looks like it's going to be a rental car, it's a little more $, but I can return it in Front Royal and pick up a shuttle from there.

If you rent from Enterprise Rental Car and drive to the AT trail head on RT 55 in Linden, VA, Enterprise may come and pick-up the car there. Just call them at the Front Royal office (540) 636-8181.
