I stayed at the Budget Inn in Hiawassee last year as well, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and there are a lot of ammenities within walking distance.

Browsed the website, and it seems like a bargain. Question: Do the shuttles only go in the AM? For example, if I'm dropped at Unicoi Gap around 9 AM and slack pack to Dick's Gap ... what happens next?

My son and I are heading your way next week for a section hike from Deep Gap. Do you shuttle to there or perhaps Standing Indian campground?

We leave Hiawassee Budget Inn at 9am and arrive at Unico about 9:20 then to Dicks Creek arriving about 9:45. We leave again on this same route at 11am. If you want to Slack Pack from Unicoi to Dicks Creek Gap and come back to the Inn for the night, call us from the Deep Gap Shelter or close by. We will come to get you in the evening and we shuttle you free back to the motel. There is no cell phone signal at Dicks Creek Gap. You will have to walk about 1 mile down the mtn on the road for a signal.

call us and we will come to Dicks Creek Gap and get you. Cell signal isn't good at Dicks Gap so you would need to call us about a mile or two before you get to Deep Gap. Call 706-896-4121

Hello Razor, hope you are doing well. We go to Unicoi as soon as we leave The Budget Inn on each trip. We are using vans instead of a bus at Hiawassee so I am only offering my free shuttles to Budget Inn guest only to keep my cost affordable. If a guest comes to either Unicoi or Dicks Creek after we run the scheduled shuttles we will go pick them up if they call us and bring them in to Budget Inn. her is a shuttle page on my site.
