it weighs 5 lb, but you could hike with it. back in the day that would of been state of the art. is it the price that caught your eye?
I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

Good reviews on the Campmor site. If it doesn't work out for you you're only out $40.

If your goal is to save money, it's a good deal. If your goal is to thru-hike the AT without breaking your back, there are many lighter packs.

I based an Outdoor Products pack on here before and took a beating so will just say that I sold OP packs for many years at Campmor and what I would say is that 'for the money' they are decent packs for 'recreational' purposes, which means if you are doing 6-7 days per year with a pack on, this will be fine provided it fits your properly. But if you plan on hiking the Long Trail, I would advise against it.

It won't fall apart, but it's designed to be inexpensive and sell by volume, it's not designed to be a good , comfortable pack that fits well. A good pair of shoulder straps sell for $40, let alone a whole pack, etc...

So in short, it depends on what you want to use it for.
