    Default Old Justus Creek campsite

Hey if I wanted to camp at the old Justus Creek campsite before the re-route, which direction would I go when I got to the current crossing of Justus Creek and about how far? Going northbound

    Thanks!

Why not stay at Devil's Kitchen? It's a nice enough spot right by Justus Creek made just for tent camping.

Cross the creek and turn right on the old jeep road. The old crossing and camping area is about 400 yards upstream.

It is a beautiful spot. Was there yesterday and carried out 13 pounds of trash. Keep it beautiful by packing out your trash!

Yeah the old spot is great, I remember going through in 2008 and was confused, then realised it was a re-route. I wanted to camp there but wasn't sure so hiked up to Gooch Gap.

I don't know if I will be down south again but if I do will hit it up!

A nice option for Justus Creek is blue blazing around the mountain with the FS road. It is a nice change of pace from the PUDS and there is a little stream with better and closer water than the creek. You just have to look for it on the map.

The old campsites beside Justus Creek (before the reroute was completed) is considered "Devils Kitchen", correct?

You are correct. Devils Kitchen is the flat adjacent to Justus Creek at the old crossing and includes the surrounding level areas.

That is one of my favorite sites... Since you showed me and SideKick that a year ago, we've prob stayed there 5 or 6 times... Great spot for an over-niter leaving outta Woody...
