I suspect WABI got its press releases garbled. Maine Chapter, Appalachian Mountain Club, is promoting its new issue of it's Maine Mountain Guide. MATC is promoting the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the completion of the trail this August. CCC crews (Civilian Conservation Corps) cleared the final link in the 2,000 plus mile footpath a mile or two north of Sugarloaf in Maine in August of 1937. The two groups are often confused, especially after the Portland Chapter, AMC, changed it's name to Maine Chapter sometime in the 60s or 70s, if I remember right.
