    Default Too young ?

Hello all. I'm new to this forum and thought it would be good to join because I have a lot of questions and no one to answer them. The first and foremost question is; is 18 too young to do a 2-3 month portion on the trail with one other person? I have rigorous hiking experiance and have actually hiked a 200-mile section of the AT with a group of people. I'd like to think I am capable of doing it, but I'm looking for an outsider's opinion. Any ideas/suggestions?

You've hiked 200 miles and you are asking us if you are ready to hike with a partner?

Kirby was only 16 when he started his thruhike. I think he turned 17 on the hike. Anyway, he was younger than 18.

    Enjoy the trip
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

I've known a couple of thruhikers who solo hiked after Junior or Senior year in high school. If you are an experienced backpacker, you should be fine.

There is also Sunshine, who if I'm not mistaken, just turned 13. Or is it 12?
