A week in the Whites, a weekend in the Catskills and the LT planned for the rest of summer.
Mid October to Cloudland Canyon for a new-gear shakedown. Real short 2-mile day on Friday after the drive down, 7 or so miles on Saturday, then another short day on Sunday before driving home. Got a new tent and sleeping bag that hasn't been anywhere except the backyard yet, and will probably have a new sleeping pad by then, too.

I'm going somewhere in September for a weekend. Anyone have any suggestions for areas around North Carolina that have a loop trail (as we'll only have the one car)? Done Art Loeb. Done Uwharrie. Done Wilson Creek. Maybe Mt. Rogers in VA?
