It's one of those nation specific things...
The scots have IrnBru as the only soft drink more popular than coke in any country in the world. the dutch have licorice with salt in it. from what I can gather the USA has cheese in squeeze bottles. If you don't have the right heritage you won't like it! :-)

Actually I'm worried about what to do on my 2013 thru. Spoilt on the Bibbulmun, every hut has water tanks. Just put the bottle under the tap every night.

Hikerboy, I found a third option. It's even solar powered!

Nada on water here. They had a wildfire risk warning posted in the local paper the other day. Not good. Too dry, even the Susquehanna is the lowest I've ever seen. How about where you are, HB?

Yikes. I was near there last week on a section hike that I cut short. Trail isn't going anywhere, so I'll finish it when the streams are going again even if it's next year. Looked grim. Not getting better. We got a 5-10 minute rain the other night but that was it. What a crazy year with weather. Barely a winter, now no rain and a scorching summer.
