I hope not. I just want to hear how one can suggest that the issues that occur when several thousand people hike the same trail every year, through some densely populated areas, can occur in remote wilderness that gets maybe a handful of visitors a year (of which there are many examples out west...) And more importantly, I'd like to hear how an aversion to those issues means one is not 'cut out for' overnight hiking.

Also I don't like people questioning my reading comprehension... I never did well in math so that's all I've got!

We probably wouldn't both fit, my hiking shoes are 14 and I stretch them because they don't make a wide in 14.

Maybe we could ski behind Oz's canoe.

Totally drop dead gorgeous day out there. Slept with the windows open last night and strong breeze blowin' through. Told my wife as we went to bed it felt like camping in my own room. Course the birds were still kind enough to wake me up at a quarter to 5. So much for the best of both worlds

I was listening to my vinyl last weekend and I wondered if any of you remembered this from Disreali Gears.

You Eric Clapton fans may be amazed. A Mother's Lament. Oh your baybee has gone down the plughole. If you remember this you are old.

I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.

Maybe if I wear more chains people will take me seriously. Now how much weight does that add to my base? Hmmm. Perhaps I could get ultralight gold chains.

He was the Justin Bieber of his day, just like the Beatles were the Backstreet Boyz of their day.

So is that like street cred is to hiker cred. In fact, what is hiker cred? I'd say beard length but smell is probably a better indicator of legitimacy.
