I'd appreciate that. One of my uncles was crushed by a mine car. One fell off a trestle to his death. A lot were dying of black lung, 25 -26 years old. My daddy didn't want to go down in the mines, so everbody told him to follow the coal and go to Detroit. That's what he did and worked in the steel mill.

We haven't been up there in awhile, but for quite a few years we used to go up and paddle the fall release of the Russell Fork of the Levisa River, which is in the same general area (Pikeville, Breaks Interstate Park). It's still a beautiful area, even tho you can see the industry left its mark.
