well i just finished saying goodbye to much of my trail family, and it wasnt easy.starface and homebrew have been my companions for the past week or so, and the slackpack we did from iron mtn rd back to uncle johnnies was one of the best days f my life, a day of pure joy from start to finish.
we spent an hour at beauty spot with the soundtrack to the sound of music playing on starface's i phone in the background, and we never stopped smiling from dawn to dusk.

You will be missed.. I understand. I'll be hiking at the same time as you then! Where is Snickers Gap?

Northern Va. on rt. 7 near Bluemont. Just a couple miles from the West Virginia state line. Actually I believe I will start up above the I-70 footbridge in Maryland and hike south to my truck. makes more sense.
I was just at that bridge about a month ago.

if we had started together, theres no doubt in my mind we would have been known as "the idiots" as its been a weeklong jokefest day after day.

Guess we need to call him HBrew, since HB is already taken.

we stopped at a parking area after roan mtn and a yukon denali pulls up , asks the usual thru hiker questions, then asks us whose idea it was( i think they thought we were father and son. didnt know how to answer them, but as they pulled away, i turned to HB2 and asked"yeah, who's idea was this?"
