The trouble with Star Trek is that if Captain Smirk fell in love with someone, you knew she was gonna die before the episode was over.

I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.

I photoshopped this a long time ago...
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

If anyone has a old Laptop or Desk model computer they would like to donate to The Place please contact me. Now that the town has city wide wi-fi I would like to have a computer for hikers, only available while the Caretaker is on site.

I heard from Rocket, he's doing OK, has been down but is on the mend and taking sabbatical. If this isn't news then hike your own hike, drink your own drink, sleep your own sleep, drive your own drive, live long and prosper, Nano Nano....
I thought it was NaNU NaNU.....now what was I doing?

What's up everybody - I haven't posted anything in a while - sometimes the posts get old - "should I carry a water filter?" "will I be ok alone?" "What should my pack weigh?" - ho hum - I'll report on my day:
Got up, made breakfast for my daughter who went to work with my wife for an hour, I then went for a 6 mile run which was fun, then I picked up my daughter and went to the park to shoot our model rocket (twice), went to the farmer's market, then I went to Home Depot (not my fav) to buy a trap to catch a mouse that seems to have taken up in our kitchen (it's a live trap such that I can deliver it back to the forest) - it's now baited with dog food. Since my wife thinks it's a rat (and not a mouse), I've also baited my raccoon live trap in the same way. Hopefully in the morning, I'll have a captive.
Just cracked a beer ... wife is at the gym.
Oh, yeah - I'm meeting my friend Jeep at 6:30am to head to NC and go rock climbing - - interesting weekend so far. (welcome to my life)
Does estes still make model rockets?
