    Default Spam Singles

Last night I was at the local WallyWorld picking up a few groceries and I saw that Spam Singles were only a buck. I picked one up to read the label, as I haven't eaten spam in, literally, decades. But I noticed that the expiration date was August of 2015. Since I'm hitting the trail in 2014, yeah, I picked up a few of them for the food box I've got going in my closet. Went with the Spam Lite singles though...

Anybody use these things? I mean, all I can think of is cut up in instant potatoes or Knorr noodles. Doubt I'll make a sammie out of 'em anytime soon, though.

Yep, I use them sparingly. They get nasty pretty quick. I cut 'em up and put them on a tortilla with mayo and crunched up fritos.

i put spam in grits too
you can dehydrate it also. (a little greasy, but great)
    eggs and spam
    baked beans and spam
Or Lobster Thermidor aux crevettes with a mornay sauce
served in a provencale manner with shallots and aubergines
garnished with truffle pate, brandy and a fried egg on top and spam.
I'm so confused, I'm not sure if I lost my horse or found a rope.

I was gonna ask here about Spam singles. Seems as if they have dissappeared from the WalMart and Publix stores around St Pete. Was wondering of they are still out there.

I have never and still don't eat SPAM off-trail, started using them in my no-cook plan 2 years ago. AWESOME

Light, easy, simple, extra tasty with mustard packets requesitioned from fast food places or rest stops on the highway. Pita bread, maybe some cheese = dinner.

They've dissapeared from Tallahassee, too. Too darned bad; I always acquaite Spam with camping (usually with fried eggs) 'cause when I was growing up, my parents would take me camping, and always at least one meal would be Spam.

MMMmmmmmm!! Fried (blackened actually) in a sandwich with mustard and a little mayo, or chopped up in some mac and cheese.

A near-perfect backpacking food. I hope I can find them often on my thru

Spam, with Kraft macaroni and cheese. The best pink and orange meal you'll ever have!

Spam singles are a great backpacking food - I alternate with the tuna packs to get some variety. I eat them regularly on the trail, occasionally at home too. Good stuff.
    Everyone's first question:
"Wow - How tall are you?"
    Answer: "I'm 6'6""
    Ergo, my trail name: 'Six-Six'
