Default Hot Springs, NC tied for Best Small Mountain Town

Hot Springs, NC is almost tied for the Best Small Mountain Town in Blue Ridge Outdoor's contest. It's only about 125 votes from first place. Some other A.T. towns are on the list, including Damascus, but none have even a third the votes.

You can vote once a day until the contest ends Saturday. The winning town gets featured in the November issue of Blue Ridge Outdoors.

Yeah, prob not a big deal to some folks.

But, to a tiny town like Hot Springs, positive publicity could bring more people to town which results in more dollars being spent which means more jobs which means families might have groceries through the next season.

Recently, the nearby bridge closing in TN has resulted in a 30% decrease in the local economy. It is a 30 month project and doesn't affect any town except Hot Springs.

So, if we can get a few good words about this great little town in a magazine that has a monthly circulation of 110,000 ------we'll take it!!

And, remember - you can vote on your phones, computers, etc. Not just one time....

(a little something I learned during the caregiver cruise contest I'm involved in....)

While I fail to see the excitement about winning an internet poll where the winner doesn't win anything, I really like the town of Hot Springs. But best trail town? Damascus would win that poll. Hands down, as you say.

I'm not so sure about that. HS has everything Damascus has (perhaps more) except for the Creeper Trail.
